DFA Engineering Services is equipped to download data stored on the airbag modules of vehicles involved in accidents. Currently, we are able to download
data from many GM (1994-), Ford (2001-), and Chrysler (2004-) vehicles, as well as certain Isuzu, Mitsubishi, and Suzuki vehicles.
Airbag module data can help paint a clear picture of the events before, during, and after an impact. Airbags do not have to deploy for data to be stored. The information stored on a module can include:
- Pre-impact vehicle and engine speeds
- Seat belt status
- Break status
- Throttle status
- Crash pulse data
- Warning lamp and error code status
DFA engineers have performed more than 1000 motor vehicle accident-related investigations over the past 20 years. Our professional affiliations include the Professional Engineers of Ontario, Society of Automotive Engineers, and National Association of Professional Accident Reconstruction Specialists and the Canadian Association of Technical Accident Investigators and Reconstructionists. Our professional engineers have been admitted as expert witnesses, and offered opinion evidence at all levels of court in Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia and Nova Scotia.
